Historic Church of Évora won an Award for Urban Rehabilitation

The Church of St. Francis was awarded an IHRU prize in 2016, in the category of the “Rehabilitation of Building”.

Classified as a national monument and it is a building from 1224. Nothing is known about the initial convent because of the changes done in the late Middle Ages, later on, the historical chronicles reveal the reconstruction of the building in the early 15th century, taking the name of Church of San Francisco, as it is known today.

No interior da igreja, está localizada a célebre Capela dos Ossos, completamente forrada por milhares de ossadas humanas recolhidas dos antigos cemitérios da cidade.

Inside the Church, is located the famous Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos), completely lined by thousands of human bones collected from ancient cemeteries of the city.

VODAFONE ADVANCES WITH SMART CITIES SOLUTIONS

The Lightenjin has the pressure to share with all customers and suppliers the first “Smart Rock City” in the world, in partnership with the project “Lourinhã Lights On, Lights Off”, Camâra Municipal da Lourinhã, Rock in Rio and Vodafone Portugal.

Recently, Vodafone presented this project, under the 7th edition of the Rock in Rio-Lisbon, and announced innovative and highly technological solutions, which never before applied in a music event and entertainment.

The development of five solutions allows to offer to a thousand of spectators an improved experience in the event, as well as environmental and economic sustainability. These solutions shall be to monitor in real time the most critical areas of the event, such as: energy, sanitation, water, waste and air quality.

LOURINHÃ LIGHTS ON, LIGHTS OFF

In 13-07-2016, Lightenjin participated in Project Presentation, named “Lourinhã Light On, Lights Off”, which the partnerships were Câmara Municipal da Lourinhã, Vodafone and Lightenjin.

This project consisted in a development of an electronic equipment (in collaboration with Globaltronic) installed in LED Luminaries, which permits the user to communicate, monitor and manage the luminaries using the Gesluce platform ( Collaboratively developed with Talents & Treasures).

Thus, Lightenjin in partnership with Vodafone, enable the Câmara Municipal da Lourinhã gradually and iteratively to manage their public luminaries network in real time,  through an integrated system that will: reduce the cost of public lighting in more than 80%; increase the lifetime of the luminaries ; reduce maintenance costs; adjust lighting  according to the requirements of each space; set hours profiles for special days, such as public holidays; integrate a wide range of sensors and alerts to network managers and users.

The objective of Lightenjin and the Gesluce platform was to benefit the municipalities with technology tools that will support decisions and enable them to manage rationally their resources, without compromising the quality of life and safety of the residents.
