The Church of St. Francis was awarded an IHRU prize in 2016, in the category of the “Rehabilitation of Building”.<\/p>\n

Classified as a national monument and it is a building from 1224. Nothing is known about the initial\u00a0convent because of the changes done in the late Middle Ages, later on, the historical chronicles reveal the reconstruction of the building in the early 15th century, taking the name of Church of San Francisco, as it is known today.<\/p>\n

No interior da igreja, est\u00e1 localizada a c\u00e9lebre Capela dos Ossos, completamente forrada por milhares de ossadas humanas recolhidas dos antigos cemit\u00e9rios da cidade.<\/p>\n

Inside the Church, is located the famous Chapel of Bones (<\/em>Capela dos Ossos<\/em>)<\/em>, completely lined by thousands of human bones collected from ancient cemeteries of the city.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This church is one of the most important religious centers of the \u00c9vora city. After restoration and refurbishment (investment of 4,2 millions of euros, which was supportive by community funds) the monument has a new life and about a year ago reopened to the public.<\/p>\n

Lightenjin had the privilege of being the partnership of the lighting of this space, applying exclusively LED technology.<\/p>\n

Several luminaires were designed for this space (Taupa, Evora, Slice, Tuled, Handled), in close collaboration with the architect Adalberto Dias, which \u00a0had implemented his \u00a0know-how and elegance in the elaboration of these unique pieces.<\/p>\n

The success of this work is the result of the commitment and dedication of all those involved in this project.<\/p>\n
