In order to maintain the characteristics of Montemor-o-Velho’s historic town centre, the municipality chose our vintage OPPIDUM lanterns to replace part of the existing luminaires.
In addition to aesthetic improvements, the main objective of this technological transition to LED lighting was to achieve energy efficiency gains.
This lighting intervention also represented an important increase in safety and improved visibility for pedestrian and road traffic.
The City Council said that “The modernisation of public lighting reflects the commitment of the Municipality of Montemor-o-Velho to safety, the preservation of local heritage and energy efficiency, promoting a more sustainable territory that is prepared for the challenges of the future.”
Intervention sites:
- Praça da República,
